Pilot - Penny In My Pocket
Morin Heights - 1976

Such an under-rated but brilliant song.

I'm down
 But don't worry
 No money, no time
Not a penny in my pocket
I got love but who wants it

* So lonely
 I'm told to give love
 Don't be cold
Not a penny in my pocket
I'll give love to who wants it

**Keep on but not alone
Keep the flags flying at home
 Keep on but not alone
How I long to get back home

 Another day gone
It's so hard to get on
Not a penny in my pocket
I got love but who wants it

 Repeat *

 Repeat **

 I'm down
 but don't worry
 No money, no time
Not a penny in my pocket
I got love but who wants it
Not a penny in my pocket
I'll give love to who wants it
Not a penny in my pocket

  • gotta love this song and heck yeah why is this so underrated ??

  • @SommieReturns Pilot got caught in the transition to disco type music? If it was released 10 years before it actually was no doubt it would have been a hit.

  • @nigelo92 ok so I was right in my reply to sommiereturns as well I said money lol and that's what you're basically saying.

  • @longhairsRcool If you read DP's memoirs it was ultimately down to bad management, real shame really.

  • What a great song.Isn't Ian a consummate guitarist.

  • Agreed!

  • Fantastic guitar work!

I love this band a lot!

  • Fantastic... nothing less than that!

  • I got no Penis in my Pocket !

  • xDDDD i got a penny in my poket xDDDD

  • @longhairsRcool money what? i didn't say a word about money :-/ ??

  • @SommieReturns money? For whatever reason even though pilots music is decent songs like Magic did ok but they were never rated where they should be and my theory is they didn't think there was the kind of money in Pilot as there was in other bands at the time.

  • Fortunately, I haven't been able to get this song out of my head during the day at work. It's nice to hear old Pilot songs...they are like hidden Alan Parsons Project gems. David Paton has that high and clear tenor and Ian Bairnson (sp?) has excellent control of that guitar! It's great to hear these fellows when they were younger before their Alan Parsons work.
