Euclid TC-12. This is one of the MOST impressive machine I have ever seen work. This thing can REALLY push the dirt. Within 40 minutes, the TC-12 transformed a flat piece of ground into a trench deep enough to burry this monster. GM took over Euclid in 1952. In 1955 they designed this crawler, with the first one hitting the dirt in 1958. It was the most powerful dozer in the world at that time. It had a split, down the middle, oscillating frame with 2 GM 6-71, and 2 Allison 3 speed automatics. The TC-12 was good for 6.9 mph forward, and 8.9 mph in reverse. HP rating was 413 HP in 1956, then upped to 425 in 1958. One for each side the dozer. Each engine and trans drove one track, and it could literally spin on a dime. 500 units where sold from 1958-1966. In 1968, the Euclid TC-12 became the Terex 82-80, it was rated at 440 hp and weighed 52 tons when production stopped in 1974.

Part II of the TC-12 is at this link...

  • Impressive machine. Why is it blowing smoke from the engine compartment? Blowby?

  • @tompaah7503 I think he may have had a fuel leak or something. It would only do it when he worked it hard. I know later, they where looking at something. Hope it wasn't to serious! Thanks for watching...

  • That's pretty freaking COOL Jack...thanks for posting this!! How are you feeling?

  • @DSVetDad That thing was unreal! Just to see the power that thing had. It just screamed power. Back in the early 70's I drove a GMC semi with a single 6-71,. Screamin Jimmy I called it. This thing has 2 of them rascals under the hoods. I'm oing pretty well thanks. Hope to have everything squared away soon...

  • Sorry to comment again but that split frame desighn is just so impressive. Do you know if there are meets like this around the country because id really like to attend one?

  • @TycoTrainAL No need to be sorry! You are right! That machine impressed the daylights outta me also! Out of the 50 or more fantastic pieces opperating there this past weekend, The TC-12 was my favorite beast. From what I understand, there are shows like this threwout the country, but this one at Brownsville, PA is the largest of its kind. I will be posting a lot more from this show in the next few weeks as I edit them. The usually have this show in May, and again in August. NATIONALPIKE DOT

  • These had 2 engines however they are 6-110 a good operator would steer the crawler by adjusting the rpm on each engine.

  • Imagine this thing with twin 8v92s or twin 12v71s

  • the total number of TC-12's built was 840 to what a friend of mine has told and there is total of 5 TC-12 in australia

  • What a brute, thanks for sharing the video.

  • I see where the got the word "MEAN MACHINE" from...

  • Please post more of that video. I love old dozers like that. I wish they would make a 16th scale model of the TC12! That would be cool!
