Please see the link below for a table of routers and their IP Addresses and Login Information. You may also find the login information on the underside of your router.

http://www.techspot.com/guides/287-default-router-ip-addresses/

Please note that I only changed the Public and Private Port on my router as it was a continuation of my previous video where I change the Remote Desktop Port Number in Windows.

The steps are as follows:

- Open a web browser.
- In the URL Bar type 192.168.x.x * The x.x is brand specific. Refer to the link above. For D-Link it is 192.168.0.1 and for Linksys it is 192.168.1.1.
- Enter the appropriate Login Information for your Router.
- Select the Advanced Tab at the top.
- Select the Application Name drop down box.
- Select Remote Desktop * Note that for multiple remote desktop connections you will have to add a letter or number after the Remote Desktop name as there cannot be multiple rules in the router with the same name.
- Change the Public and Private Port number to the appropriate one that you have designated your computer.
- Select the computer you wish to access remotley from the Computer Name drop down box.
- Click on the box on the left hand side ensuring that it has a checkmark in it.
- Click Save Settings.
- You are finished!

  • @MicrosoftTechTips How to update??

  • @TheDeanmoz To update the firmware : Go to D-link's site - Find Router Revision by looking on the underside of router. Download the firmware, From a Wired PC, Login and select the Tools Tab. Select System from the Left Hand Pane. Select Backup Current Configuration. Select the Firmware from the Left Hand Pane. Click on Browse, navigate to your Downloaded Firmware (not Configuration) file. Click Upload. When done, go to System and click Browse then Restore Config From File
