A person's wedding day can be described as one of the happiest days of a person's life. You want it to be perfect in every way. You're finally going to be with your other half forever. It's all you've ever wanted, it's your dream come true.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In walked the most beautiful girl in the world. Everything about Abigail made her glow in beauty. Her blue eyes seemed brighter and bluer. Her light brown hair was slightly curled and rested gently on her shoulders. In her hair was a small crown, fit for a beautiful princess like her. My princess.
Her long, white dress trailed behind her. She could not have looked more beautiful and if she had, I'm sure I would faint right here at my wedding. Around her neck was half of a heart, reading 'Love never fails', an inscription I have found true. Her dress was tight around her waist and flowed out. Beauty in the form of a girl.
The dress was adorned with beads and such. She was carrying a small bouquet of red roses and her smile said it all. She was happy to be here with me, she was happy to be marrying me today. I mirrored her want and her love. Her eyes shimmered with tears of joy. She was everything and more.
She took the final steps to where I was and handed her bouquet off. I grabbed her hands and the priest began to make his speech. His words slurred together as I stared into Abigail's beautiful blue eyes. I was actually standing here on the happiest day of my life with this beautiful girl.
The tears started to come down her face and I reached up to gently wipe them away with my thumb. She smiled at me and I smiled even wider. The priest had started on the traditional vows. I stopped him and he looked at me confused. I wanted to say my own vow. I cleared my throat.
"Looking at you today, I know I made the right choice. You're all I could ever want, Abigail. Since the first time I saw you, I knew I would be with you for a very long time... for eternity. There is nothing I wouldn't do for you. You're giving me life, happiness. Thank you, Abigail. I love you."
Tears stained her cheeks and I knew she was happy. He asked us that question that means everything. "I do," her angelic voice said. It was beautiful the way she spoke, with so much love. "I do," I said when it was my turn. I slipped the silver band on her finger and she slid one on me as well.
"You may now kiss the bride." I wasted no time and leaned forward. Abigail met me halfway and our lips were soon connected in the most beautiful kiss of my life. So passionate, so sweet... our wedding kiss. It was official. She was mine for today, tomorrow, and all the days to come in our lives together.
Cheers erupted from everyone watching and I slowly pulled away from my wife. Wow, that sounded amazing. We were finally going to be together without reserves. There was nothing that could tear me away from this, nothing that could make me unhappy right now.
I stared at Abigail as the applause from our guests surrounded me. I kept staring at my girl, my world. That dream gave life to this, to this amazing and incredible journey to get where I am today. I would remember this forever... We both turned to our guests and smiled and waved as my arm was around her waist.
In the front row were Nick and Keri, holding their daughter. I was so happy for them. Next to them was Carolina with her son on her lap. There was an empty chair next to her. I wish Kevin was here to see this. I bet he would be happy for me. I bet he would be glad that I followed my dream, just like he did.
Then there sat Abigail's parents. They looked so happy to see their daughter getting married. Jonathan really trusted me. The servants and maids of the castle were there as well. They looked glad to see me finally getting married. And next to them were some people of the village who wanted to see the Prince be wed.
And beside me was my beautiful wife. Abigail was everything that I had hoped for and dreamed about. And now that she had finally married me, everything was perfect. She was the one I loved, the one I would spend my life with, the one I was destined to be with for the rest of my life.
And even though we would have our fights, disagreements, and drama, we knew that we would conquer everything together. Like they say, love conquers all. And our love was strong enough to do that. I just knew it. I felt it in my heart, my blood, our kiss. I would live my happily ever after with Abigail. Finally, it would all come together. Just me and her for the rest of our lives. All we need is love and that's enough for the both of us. And Abigail was right. Love is patient. And I have waited for this moment ever since I saw her in my dreams. My life would finally become a dream come true.
"Dreamers,
You see everything in color
While the world is getting darker
Love is on its way."
For Melyssa,
An inspiration, a friend, a dreamer.
  • What a wonderful ending to a truly amazing story.
    This chapter, I believe, tops all chapters. It just radiates Joe's happiness. I feel happy knowing that everything has worked out okay and that they're finally married. Seriously.
    I love the way you described the wedding. I could imagine Joe standing there with the biggest smile on his face and Abigail walking down the aisle.
    Ah, I'm just so happy so that there's a positive outcome to all the negative that's happened between them.
    Happy, happy!
