LOL... i remember buying this album as a kid -- the other tracks on this release were really goofy. I had this on vinyl and it didnt get much play.

@TGCRVT This band was really about Magic Dick on the harp but I agree, they never were the same without Peter Wolf.

He needs to get a handle on his drum kit. Stick em up.

I'm one of the few that absolutely LOVED this album and still have it on a much worn cassette tape. Wish ITunes would pick the album up!

Looking forward to the 8/14 reunion show at Fenway and praying to God they don't play this song!

As a huge JGB fan growing up, I groaned the first time I heard this on the radio! Revisting it now, it's no worse than other mid-'80's syrupy, overproduced pop fare. That said, it still feels like a soul-less, subpar effort that JGB was either "forced" to do contractually or did out of pride to show Wolf they could exist w/o him. Sure, JGB had taken a def. pop bent with Love Stinks & Freeze Frame, but those LPs had great rock & blues songs that retained elements of JGB's orig. character.

Couldn't agree more with your last point ! It ALWAYS sux when 1 of your fave bands not only breaks up, but then the factions try to "compete" w/each other for record sales /airplay /concert tix /overall popularity with the orig lineup's fan base (think Pink Floyd). The result is that both cannabalize each other since the "vote gets split", as they say in politics LOL Proves that Gestalt theory is correct - the whole really IS greater than the sum of its parts !

Anyone know where to get a digital copy of Concealed Weapons? It's not even in the JGB catolog because of the lack of Peter! tcrjr@sc.rr.com

There are Mp3s kicking around on the net....May be hard to find.
I don't think Seth's singing was the problem with this song or the band at this point. J. Geils was one of those bands with such a loyal fan base that the "faithful" wouldn't accept any frontman but Peter Wolf. With Peter this song probably would have gotten more play. It's just one of those Rock equations: J. Geils Band - Peter Wolf = Not J. Geils Band.
