Boni Boyer... Mavis Staples. You're referring to the beauties he had around him. But he was also known to work with great female vocalists too. They pretty ones didn't have great chops... But who cared. I LOVED me some Taja Seville!!!!!

@freda747 Jill Jones, Vanity, nor Appollonia couldn't sing worth shit. Nothing but pretty faces with about as much talent as a tree stump. Come to think of it, what female protege that was ever associated with Prince could really sing? Sheila E was average at best, Wendy and Lisa were average too. Rosie Gaines is about the only one that I remember that could REALLY SING!
