Omgosh, you used to live in Pittsburgh?! THAT'S WHERE I'M FROM! And my dream place is NEW ZEALAND! HOW ON EARTH DID YOU AFFORD THAT?! Lol. I can't help but be jealous. :| I don't envy you, though! Not one bit! I'm just jealous. Haha. =P

It sounds like you're picking up the accent already, too! I would so love to be able to move to NZ myself. It seems like such a lovely country, and I am dying to get out of the US. So happy it's worked out for you.

@CheckM8King2 my profile is a lie. but the son is very real. i just like anonymity. i dont live in canada, either. i just opened the youtube account there. i never said YOU sd talk to an immigration lawyer: i said thats what I would do. and all i said was i know that an adult, usa born citizen CAN hold dual citizenship in the usa and canada b/c my son has both and that is all i know on the subject of dual cit. why r u getting in a tizzy?

@censored6x WOW! you son went to college? Amazing since your profile says you're only 33..First, I think you should re-read my original post. Second, I don't need 50 bucks to talk to an immigration lawyer. I have a friend that works for the INS and I have also researched the state department at us dot gov for further clarification.

@CheckM8King2 my son was born in the usa. i am an american citizen. he is a usa citizen. he moved to canada to work after uni. after abt 2 yrs, he got canadian citizenship. now he has both usa and canadian citizenship and can use either passport. he files taxes in both countries. [i assume there is some reciprocal tax agreement]. so all i know is u can be a dual canadian/usa citizen as an adult. for the rest, i'd invest the $50 and ask an immigration lawyer.
-
@censored6x If you are born in another country and your parents were American ciizens you can have dual citizenship until you become an adult then you have to declare your citizenship. If you immigrate to the US from another country and become a US citizen you thus denounce your citizenship from your country of origin. US generally does not recognise dual citizenship.

i was thinking of moving there for my best friend who i'm in love with.. this video kind of helped me... was it hard to decide to leave your friends and family here? and what was it like to live there permanately, like how different was it from what your used to over here?

Hello! Awesome video... I must say it has thrown fuel on my fire of wanting to move out to New Zealand. I must say I am having problems with the society here going to shambles, and NZ, is definitely offering some hope to me. I am currently in nursing school, and have 2 years to finish, after that I hope to do the necessary work to transfer my license there and become a permanent resident. I really do hope my plans go through. Thanks for the video once again.
are you sure you don't loose your US citizenship? I thought that if u are US citizen you denounce all other citizenships? I don't if this is the case for those that are naturalized.

@reallyreallynotreal Yep, I'm sure. I've looked into it. Its all about the countries who have agreements with each other. For example.. China, you can only have Chinese citizenship. But America has agreements with some countries, probably most countries (but that I'm not positive about). A lot of actors have certain UK citizenship duel with America citizenship, like Mischa Barton to name one. But of course its always best to look into the individual case.
