Maybe not the type of voice one would associate with Marguerite but then so more interesting! What feelings and musicianship!

Perfect phrasing and Callas makes every note meaningful. The reason it's a feat is that the story in and of itself was never very interesting to me. Romantic yes but not the kind of thing that would easily evoke as much pathos from me as when Callas sings it.
