  • I narrowly escaped death on 152 westbound last night. Truck jack knifed in front of me against the central divider.. I don't know how, but I managed to swerve into a gap and got through with no contact. Still shaken up.

  • @akasenally: Wow, be careful out there! Some drivers don't respect the yellow warning signs, advising drivers to slow down to 55 MPH thru those curves, heading westbound down that steep descent.

  • The whole highway used to be on Casa de Fruita Parkway, it was dangerous pulling out on that road.

  • @Coastergeekperson04: Exactly. I only remember being on it once, when I was 5, and strangely enough, I remember CalTrans constructing the adjacent and current 4 lane divided highway. In fact, CalTrans had already completed the overpass, over the connecting road to Casa De Fruita Parkway.

  • I remember traveling on this road back in 1997 and thinking it was the only logical shortcut to I-5 southbound from San Jose.

  • Yeah, it really is. One can take I-680 to I-580, but that certainly involves more time. One could also take CA 198 to I-5, but at that point, you're probably better off just driving all of 101 down to Los Angeles.

  • This video has a lot going for it, nice soundtrack, a really fun ride with some great visuals and nicely produces, 5*****

  • Interesting highway. Being the main link from Fresno to San Jose must have made the old highway pretty busy.

  • haunted???

  • My dad once recieved a ticket for driving more than 80mph westbound on the expressway segment of this same highway.

  • @FreewayBrent Yeah, thanks man.. I think it was a combination of things, blind-ish corner, breakdown on the side of the road with flares on, and glare from the headlights coming up the hill. I think the truck driver was going too fast and panicked. Very lucky indeed...

  • Nice highway, that's not in Southern California, lol

  • New driver here. So I drove over 152 last month. The 2 lane section of 152 was bad due to all the trees and the native of 2 lane blood alleys, but what would you caution for on the 4 lane section?

  • I remember there used to be an old graffiti that read "Carter 76" or "Carter 1976" located on a rocky cliff on the westbound side of the highway between the summit and Casa de Fruita. I just drove on this route recently and looks as though the graffiti was removed, probably by Caltrans.

  • When I was younger, our family took this route to get on 101 to San Jose. It was nighttime, and the winding road scared me. Now I can see that it is a pleasant drive with some great scenery.

  • Another great video Brent. Are you shooting through your windshield or have you mounted a camera outside of your vehicle. Your videos are so clean. mind sharing your set up...or is it secret? Thanks for the great videos!
