The resistance in Iraq had nothing to do with Fallujah, it was the blowing up of a Mosque in northern Iraq that incited the sectarian violence. Mostly Al Sadrs "Mahdi" army to start indiscriminately killing Sunni arabs in Bagdad. And the Sunni backlash.

World opinion is not nor should it ever be an issue. You sound like Sally Fields. Rumfield has been out of office for many months now even though I liked him very much. The media didn't like him and abused thier right to free speech to say whatever they wanted. Nobody wants endless war, neither Bush or Cheney. It isn't good for business, and people aren't stupid.
