  • Debate from the inside is better. This is what Trudeau recommended to David. I think it is good advise. His repeated attempts to debate political rivals gets more exposure within the political arena then from the fringes. He still pursues debate on issues outside of the arena. But, better yet, all the world is an arena for good ideas. Check out the coming debate entitled "Unearthing the Truth" a debate with Dr. Joe Schwarcz, on genetically modified organisms

  • DAVID ORCHARD should leave the political ring and his goal to become an MP and PM. His power lies in presenting the facts, his strength in debate with those who would present the populace with a distorted picture of events, spin, obfuscation and outright lies. All politicians should commit by, oath, signature and/or whatever other effective method that could be utilized for compliance at the time of their declaration to run for office, to make themselves available for public debate.. contd

A national public organization could be created to select the topics of particular interest to Canadians. Elected officials, including the most senior, would be invited to participate in open debate. Those who refused to participate would be in bad standing with the organization and the electorate. Their broken pledge or continuous refusal to participate would be scrutinized and announced through media for evalution by voters and would become a determination of a poor representative.
