Going Places with Geography is the new progression and careers video from the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG)'s Geography Ambassador Project.

It features engaging and inspiring young graduate geographers speaking about their careers and the range of skills and experiences geography has enabled them to develop.

Further geography ambassador video clips and careers resources can be found on the Action Plan for Geography website http://www.geographyteachingtoday.org.uk/ambassadors/ambassadors-online along with details of how to request a geography ambassador to visit your school.

  • @spimax12 I hate your spelling. Their*

  • i hate there accent..... oh, and geography

  • Geography is pretty much to only subject I enjoyed in school

  • I graduated from university with a Geography degree about 6 months ago. It still interests me a lot and feel it is a very important and influential subject, but obtaining employment with a Geography Degree is actually a challenge, as most positions are at a higher level than you can join after you have graduated.

There seems to be a very limited number of positions which you can get straight from university into work, and sometimes the broadness of the subject is a disadvantage.

  • There are hunderds of exciting careers wth geography - we could only fit in about 25! We have tried to profile some of the less well known ones to show that geography is a relevant choice for career and progression. A shared agenda I hope!

  • Is there any way i can reach this video anywhere else? I would LOVE to show it to my class, but school internet does has youtube blocked.

  • i am thinking about getting a hydrogeology degree, but the school i might get into onyl has geography majors. any body have a B.S. major in Geography: Water Studies?

  • Hey RGS IBG, curious as to why you don't have Geography Teacher as part of your montage of exciting and varied careers that geography can lead to. We're the ones pushing your agenda on geography; a little recognition wouldn't have gone a miss.

  • im 14 yrs old.. i love geography and this definetly helped me to see what id like to do when im older
