  • Hi, I just bought my GTablet. It is so slow and choke a lot. I watch your clip and want to get my tablet to "fly" too. I am newbie to this thing so please be a bit patient.

    1. How can I find out if my tablet is compatable to do this hacking? I am looking at the "About tablet" and here is what I see:

    Model: UPC300-2.2

    Android OS: 2.2

    Tap UI Version: 1.2-4349

    Kernel version: 2.6.32.9-00001-g0e0c333-dirty hudson#tapntapsvn #1

    Build number: FRF91

    2. where is ROM info? Link to files please?

  • @pupytech As you are on 1.2-4349, your easiest route is to go with a 1.2 ROM. However, it is highly advised that before attempting any ROM you learn how to use nvflash. If you go to the Slatedroid website, there is a whole section for the Viewsonic ViewPad/G-Tablet. I would suggest starting with the FAQ/Guides forum, then checking out the nvlash post in the recovery section. From there you can try one of the ROMS in the 1.2 Development section. Have fun!

  • @pensacolacomps I dont understand can you please message or post a link to all this stuff to make it easier Im kinda new to the android tablets and phones

  • @AppleCin3ma check out the instructions on installing ROMS (and disaster recovery using nvflash) on the Slatedroid website. The best thing to do is read through the instructions there, then read them again. It can be a bit overwhelming at first, but once you go through it a few times it will start to make sense. The Gtablet is great in terms of how easy it is to install ROMS and such - it is one of the easier Android devices to customize in my opinion.

  • **Once again - please note that TNT Lite has been retired and has been replaced with Mountain Laurel - available on Slatedroid - please always follow the latest instructions on either XDA-developers or Slatedroid as they are the most current

  • Hi! Can someone help me please? I bought my G- tablet 5 days ago from someone, Today when I wanted to turn it on, it's showing the start-up screen with the birds, and then those hexagons are flashing, and that's it. then it stops. I tried POWER+Vol Up or Vol Down, but nothing seems to work! Please help! Thank you :D

  • @vegasshowbiz - it sounds as if you are in a boot loop - you need to go into apx mode - see my video on how to nvflash recovery :)

  • Thanks so much for these videos. its much easier following these than reading xda threads for directions.

  • Thanks broseph... walk thru helped since this is my first android and I didnt know wtf I was doing.

  • That was excellent, made me a much happier viewsonic tablet owner! Im going to run Vegan 5.1 cause I heard its the smoothest, some people didnt like 7.0. But thanks, people like you make the world an easier place!

  • @pensacolacomps no dude im a dude wth lol

  • @008gilbert - I could be - are you michelle rodriguez? ;)

  • dude r u vin diesel? :o

  • do you need an sd card

cuz i dont have one and it doesnt work

  • @meshmesh185 - First, TNT Lite has been retired and is no longer being developed - however if you are trying this and you are freezing there - make sure that you 1) Ensure that you are coming from a 3588 stock image or earlier 2) are using the correct Update zip (you might want to re-dowload to make sure your copy isn't corrupted). 3) make sure have the command file inside the recovery folder

  • After I download the update.zip and recovery in the internal storage, I reboot it with Vol+ and power BUT it freezes on "Booting recovery kernel image"

    what shall I do?

  • *** NOTE: TNT LITE has been retired and Clockwork Mod should only be used if you know which specific ROMS you are wanting to install - clockwork can cause issues if you have the wrong version of it on your gtablet. TNT Lite has been replaced by 'Mountain Laurel' which you can find in the gtablet 1.2 ROM section at Slatedroid

  • @kyleigh6 ES File explorer is available in the market (either Google Marketplace or Amazon App store) :)

  • how can i get the updated version of the es file explorer

  • @pensacolacomps another question :)

can you pm me the exact link of the clockwork mod and tnt lite 4.2.4 that you're using? please? and i'll just follow this procedure.. mine is stock 2.2.. and i don't have to delete the stock update.zip file on my gtab right?

  • @jan3019 my best advice is to read through the info threads at xda-developers and slatedroid. There are some great how-to posts there and great community of people willing to help :)

  • man i wish i know how to do this lol looks pretty easy but i don't know where to get the latest update.zip files you're using.. and which one to install first.. :/

  • @br5an1 Make sure if you are trying to flash ROM that you are doing power and Volume UP, if you are trying to do the nvflash, it is power and Volume DOWN to get into the mode for APX (when plugged in via USB to your PC and using the APX drivers)

  • Thz for your reply, but the process is halted by not being able or I should say it. Won't get past the rebooting page, once I hold down the power and the volume button. ...that's where it stops........I,m sick. :(

  • @br5an1 if you are stuck in recovery, try reflashing - make sure to redownload the ROM in case you got a corrupted one, if that fails, then you can always nvflash back to stock then reapply updates and custom ROMS - How to use nvflash to return your gtablet to stock: youtube.com/watch?v=qK2tgEBQRIU
