On Saturday, November 21, 2009, in a rare weekend session, Senator Leahy spoke during floor debate on the Senate's health insurance reform plan. By a vote of 60 to 39, the Senate voted to end a filibuster by the Senate Republicans on a procedural vote to move to debate on the health insurance plan. Senator Leahy voted against the filibuster, in support of moving to debate on this legislation.

Here is my thought for what it's worth......................
what if we take all the money that's spent so DAMN folishly and put it towards getting free health care for every man , woman and child that needs its .
1) A war on medical fraud
2) Collect all the money paid out to the lobbyist and republican politicians that is being spent
on stopping health program
3) Use all the money that will spent on Super Bowl Sunday TV ads
This is some serious, serious money that could pay for health care

Republicans argue that European socialism means providing people with affordable health insurance and American capitalism means denying people affordable health insurance and access to health care.
Their argument raises an obvious question.
Are Republicans against health care?
Or are they against capitalism??
Which is it???
