@stop222200 the point of this though is to save the bug instead of smashing it or spraying poison, or freezing it lol.

Good Job, I like the zip ties better. I wonder how big this would need to be to suck up the neighborhood cats?

This is a response to kipkay dumbass...

Just had an idea for this. If you replaced the "catch" with a flexible tube and glass jar on the bottom.(perhaps a pickle jar that could set in the floor or a smaller one that you could hold in your other hand) it would still work (so long as you had holes for air to escape in the lid of the jar), and you would risk much less the chance of getting bitten by the more active and speedy of poisonous unwanted critters. Just be sure the flexible tubing would be as large as the end of the barrel.

important question: do u think this would suck up ckrikets? And would it work the same if i added one of those big transperent insect cages on the bottom instead of the little cap with holes?

@TapiaKid well the cricket would have to be able to fit in the 1/2" tubing but yes it would be able to suck one up. an acorn IS heavier than a cricket. for the bottom part you'd have to have holes for air to escape but i guess any container would work. it just needs to have vent holes for the air to go through. hope this helped.
