Hi - this is Rachel - and this is Kendra - and you're watching This Week in TV. Today we have the week's scheduling - take note of all of the finales and hiatuses - and then - again, as the year comes to an end we'll again be looking back. Today we're focusing on Mistletoe Moments. Bet you can guess what that means. First, Kendra, what's on?
K: Well Rachel, on Monday, I'm sorry to inform you that Fear Factor returns with a 2 episode premiere on NBC starting at 8pm, then over on HBO, Enlightened has its finale at 9:30. On Tuesday, NBC airs the 'William and Kate: Inside the Royal Marriage' special at 8pm followed by The Biggest Loser 2-hour season finale. On FOX and CBS, don't miss the fall finales of Glee, New Girl, Raising Hope, NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles. Then on Wednesday, we have the ABC special, 'Barbara Walters Presents the 10 Most Fascinating People of 2011' at 9:30, then at 10, the Psych fall finale on USA and the Real World season finale on MTV. So that's the beginning of the week, what else is on, Rachel?
R: Well Kendra on Thursday we have the series finale of Prime Suspect over on NBC. We also are getting started on the Year in Review specials with: The Year with Katie Couric on ABC at 9. There's also the Always Sunny season finale on FX at 10. Then on Friday we have the season premiere of the animated comedy Life and Times of Tim on HBO. Finally on Sunday, December 18th it's the Survivor: South Pacific finale followed by reunion show - all starting at 8. It's also the finales of Allen Gregory on FOX and Next Iron Chef on Food Network as well as finale night on Showtime for both Dexter and Homeland.
R: Again, this week we're continuing our look back on the year and the romantics that Kendra and I are, we thought we'd highlight some Mistletoe Moments, meaning, some of our favorite TV kisses from the past year. Kendra, start us off:
K: My first pick is from, big surprise, Glee! When Kurt jumped ship briefly to go to private school and The Warblers, he had what seemed like an impossible crush on Blaine, but by early 2011, everything turned around! In the March episode, "Original Song," Kurt's moving performance of 'Blackbird' did exactly that - move Blaine to the magical moment when he said, "Kurt, there is a moment when you say to yourself, 'Oh, there you are. I've been looking for you forever,'" and then he kissed Kurt for his first REAL kiss. Still gives me goosebumps!
K: My second pick is from Parks & Recreation. In the recent November episode, "Smallest Park," the tragically broken up Leslie and Ben worked on what Ben decided should be their last project together, leading Leslie to freak out, and then finally realize what she really wanted, which of course, was Ben, despite the risk to her running for city council. This led to one of the absolute cutest and heart-melting kisses of 2011, sealing their rekindled relationship. So, those are my picks for best kisses of the year, what are yours, Rachel?
R: Well Kendra, my first pick goes to Friday Night Lights. This isn't so much for a single kiss as for the entire marriage of Eric and Tami Taylor portrayed for 5 the seasons of that show. But, I will single out the series finale episode, Always, and how the final scene - don't worry - it's not a spoiler - found Eric and Tami on the football field, having resolved all of their issues, exchanging a small kiss before walking off. Again, it was subtle - not a dramatic kiss - but it was very real, much like their marriage for the duration of the series. How I miss that show!
R: My second pick goes out to True Blood - not Sookie and Bill - but SOokie and Eric - who finally shared a steamy, real kiss this past season of True Blood in the July episode "Me and the Devil". I don't know about you, but I think that kiss was worth the 3 and a half seasons of waiting. I know I watched it more than once!
