A military agreement between the United States and Columbia has led to widespread concern in South America. Leaders want to know why the United States is trying to increase its military presence in the region. The Colombian government says that having more US troops in the country will help fight drug trafficking and combat terrorism. Venezuela's Hugo Chavez, however, ardently opposes these plans. He says that the military bases in Columbia will provoke conflict in Latin America. Venezuelan-American Attorney and Author Eva Golinger joins RT's Dina Gusovsky from Caracas via skype to discuss this matter.

  • @seminoleboy96 "OPEC IS AN ANTI AMERICAN ORGANIZATION!!!!!"

No, it's not. It's just business. OPEC countries will try to protect their economy, simple as that.

Nobody is forcing you to get oil from Iraq, Venezuela, Libya, Ecuador, etc.

"I MEAN THEY ATTACKED US FINANCIALLY "

U.S. imposes high import tariffs and high agriculture subsidies ...thats attacked us financially. So we should invade USA and BOMB your cities? Are you some kind of psychotic freak?

  • @0neofthem considering Usa voted Bush two times is no shame for Venezuela! he has his political views & implementing them peacefully whereas the US is getting into wars starting wars with thousands being killed in the process...lets not be polititcal first but human & condemn imperialism & war-mongering.tc.

  • seemingly this rt host has already formed a bias, maybe she should leave rt and apply at faux news.

  • Eva is a bombshell…!

No, really, her big breasts are two military devices ready to explode at any minute on my comandante’s face!

  • @azandhind4eva remember usa does bussiness with chavez4 oil.amid their rehotoric agianst hime.easy to blame it squarely on chavez.chavez soesn need to make deals for usa to buy oil they love it will forget differnces for oil.venezuela needs it.to get out of economic difficulties.usa aint no new to such deals they do it with the worst ppl if they need oil.it isnt chavez but usa that needs lots of oil to run their lives.chaves sells it to make money4 vzla & get usa of his back!

  • @azandhind4eva also USA talks about demcracy but supports dictators.its naive to thing they are supportes of democracy all thought they claim so use it as rhetoric.chavez is the best prez until now.u know the 50:s till 80's venezuela.so it surely is better.chavez does bsussiness deal for venezuela not for him.it benefits the nation & therefore he does bussiness witht them.it doesnt mean hea cant speak about their bad policies.

  • @marcosvelarde83 naive.not true.USA is the biggest importer consumer of ful.it would be stupid to live so close & not sell them fuel.u have a market there u have to sell it to make money.we all live capiltalistic lives i dont want o live like a bigger.but i wan tit to change be more equal.some ppl wan to keep capiltalism because it benefits them they makelot of money get success.but there r ppl who want change even if it helping them get success.see the difference.tc

  • @azandhind4eva yeap an we provide oil for the "empire". dont you see is just a lie? is just politics, behind the courtains both nations have businnes together, and a lot of big traders, bussinesman, generals, from vzla talk with the autorities of usa, in the name of hugo chavez, the policy is loud antimperialism propaganda but no hostile action. we are one of the biggest allies of usa because WE sell them OIL. chavez is just a liar. stop being so naive..

  • Eva golinger lives like a "capitalist" in a expensive area in caracas, his family has become rich with the "revolution" just like many others (diosdado cabello, the kingpin of vzla 4 example), is common knowlege here. About "yumare" just search "El Rodeo I" in google, it was a real massacre. proof? i live here, where do you live? usa? england? where do you think eva, the chavez family, the vzlan generals spent their vacations? here? no, miami. a 1/4 part of miami is owned by "revolutionaries"..

  • @marcosvelarde83 dubai is so successful.its not demcracy.so is oman saudi arabia.it ruled by kings.ppl want to make money.they dont care if its democracy or autocracy.if plenty oppurtunites to make money they keep quite.wish ur country good.there is poverty in many democracies & guess what chaves isnt president in those countries.ul see wat i mean.peace.

  • @marcosvelarde83 no country can be USA.there is only one nation that is 14 trillion economy or was! & today no nation is 14trillion debt economy. so say bye to security of any kind jobs some democracy.so venezuela cant be like them.chavez has contributed more than any other previous prez.Murder, Disappearance, and Torture of Venezuelans during Decades of the 60s, 70s, and 80s.u should know.there was 2 party rule for decades b4 chavez.why make him scapegoat?.
