Wednesday, October 7, 2009. Thomas Berilla did love his grandchildren and, in his more mobile years, enjoyed golf. So, in his memory the grandchildren participated in one last round of "Drop the Dollar" - this time from Uncle Paul. The children would get in line and in turn try to snatch the two-dollar bill as it dropped from Pappap's hand. If they missed, they would have to go back to the end of the line and try again. He used two-dollar bills because one-dollar bills were too easy to catch and the higher denominations were too hard to drop. Uncle Dave had Dad's clubs in the trunk of his car, and Claire thought it would be a good idea to hit some balls on the driving range. Coincidentally, apparently Danny also had the same idea and had planned ahead and brought his clubs with him. Great minds think alike. And it was, indeed, a good idea.
