@Jason4325 Agreed. The best 1/4 mile run I have ever made in my Mustang is 14.45 @ 95.16 mph and I just raced a friend's 2000 LS V8 yesterday and put 2 lengths on him from 40-80 mph and I was pulling away consistently and easily the whole time. I usually run just about dead even with stock 1999 - 2009 Mustang GTs (I find the '99 - '04 5 speed models to perform about the same as the '05-'09 models).

the lincoln ls is about 4000 punds, idk about the mustang gt, but im sure the gt should have more hp. but not the luxury as the lincoln ;) i rather get a 06 lincoln than a 05-08 stang gt...

he was using the sport shift. The automaticsshift 1-2krpm early. but the thing is, it looks like even with the sport shift, he shifted as early as he would without it.

the LS has a faster pick up. then when it gets in to higher gear. thats when the mustang starts to win

Good lord people, how dumb are we becoming these days? Lincoln LS V8's are nice and I wish Ford had not have discontinued them, but to be SUPRISED that it lost to a new GT is just dumb. You Lincoln LS owers have either had too much red wine or you were racing your LS against a '95 V6 Convertible automatic.

I own a Lincoln LS and it beats out my cousins Mustang GT every time. I LOVE my car!!!
is the ls a v8?

Yes. Stock 05 LS (280 peak HP) vs stock 07 GT (305 peak HP).

Sorry but the lincoln got the jump while the mustang driver just fell asleep at the line. Did he not hear his own 3rd beep?
Even with the non-start, the stang still stopped his pull and went whipping by.

They both launched at the same time. The driver of the 07 needs a bit of work (heh) and the LS can launch pretty well.

Uhh? How hard is it to drive an automatic... not to knock on those who enjoy them, but once you're rolling, there's not much more to it than holding WOT.
I think you've been racing v6's, my friend.
