Because the more options you have, the better set you'll be. What if you lost all those? You'd be screwed. He just emphasizes having options. And knowing how to use those options. That's all.

@TheGamerguy778 The definition of "edible" is "fit to be eaten" (m-w.com) so if it's not poisonous, toxic, or otherwise not-fit, it should be edible. The issue is whether you derive any nutritional or medicinal value from the eating of it. Is it worth your time to look for, harvest, prepare and eat an edible plant that gives you nothing in return? not even a pleasant flavor to your water....

Hey I have a question. Whats the worse that would happen if you ate a plant that wasn't "edible" but it wasn't poisonous either?

All parts are edible. The stems are pretty rank though.

Yeah the leaves are usually pretty bad but I have eaten raw flower tops that were'nt too bad in the past.

Yeah I will be making several more, I actually had a few segment I cut for time I will put in the next one. The teas was'nt really that bad, I was suprised without adding any honey.
