Jet Specializations
Using the right weapon type
setups for the right occasion

Jet Specializations Slots

Slot 1.
-Stealth
It is the air vehicle counterpart to Thermal Camo.

When activated, the spotting radius for enemies is decreased, and any successful spots disappear faster.

Stealth also reduces the radius for weapon lock, protecting the user from heat-seeking weaponry

-Belt Speed
It decreases the minimum time between firing bursts with your main weapon.

-Proximity Scan
When equipped, enemy infantry in the immediate area are marked on the minimap.

Like other sensors, the game actually checks to see if the enemy is within range along the XY plane, ignoring height. Visualized, the sensing area would form a standing cylinder with the vehicle at its center.

-Air Radar
It increases the size of the player's minimap and shows the location of all friendly and enemy aircraft on the map.

-Maintenance
It increases the rate at which armor regeneration occurs.

-Beam Scanning
It helps you lock on to enemy targets faster when using heatseeking or laser-guided missiles. Normally, a lock-on requires 3 seconds, but with Beam Scanning, the time is reduced to 1 second.

Slot 2.
-IR Flares
Infrared flares are aircraft countermeasures that help you evade locked-on missiles or rockets if deployed at the right time. Once used, the flares require 10 seconds before they can be deployed again.

-Extinguisher
It will put out engine fires and return the disabled vehicle to 53% health, sufficient to prevent further health loss and possibly regenerate the remaining health. The system must be recharged between uses.

-ECM Jammer
It prevents enemies from acquiring weapon lock, but does not stop enemy missiles that are already tracking you. The ECM lasts for 5 seconds, and requires another 10 seconds before it can be reactivated.

Slot 3.
-Heat Seekers
It adds 2 heat-seeking missiles to the Jet and you can lock on to ANY aircraft, including enemy jets, helicopter (scout/attack/transport), and the Recon's MAV drone.

-Rocket Pods
It adds unguided rockets pods that contain 14 rockets per reload and are effective against ground vehicles and slow moving aircrafts, as well as infantry units.

The rockets do not reload automatically when you fire less than all 14 shots, so make sure you reload manually.

-Guided Missile
When activated, a special targeting mode is used to highlight enemy vehicles. The system will only target one vehicle at a time, picking whichever one is closest to the center reticule. Upon firing, the missile will continue to track the target using internal IR guidance.

The missile can be defeated using IR Smoke, causing it to miss its target. The Guided Missile also has the ability to lock onto laser-designated targets provided by teamates, decreasing lock-on time and increasing damage due to the top-down attack.

Strategies to using the right weapon

Heat Seekers
Against jets: Get behind your enemy and lock on, once locked-on, fire 1 missile, then wait for the countermeasures to be deployed, then lock on again and fire the other missile, and maybe the first missile you fired has already reloaded and is ready to go, so fire that one too.

Against helicopters: Lock on, get close to the chopper, then fire both missiles. The pilot or gunner may deploy their countermeasures, but if you were close enough, they won't help.

Rocket Pods
Against Tank/Mobile AA: Keep target in crosshair and fire all missiles. Make a quick 360 degree turn to reload then fire again. If all 14 rockets hit the tank, it should be close to being disabled, so a 2nd run should destroy it.

Guided Missile
Against Tank/Mobile AA: Keep the airplane steady and find your target. Once locked-on, fire and forget. If target wasn't destroyed, circle around and fire again.

Gatlin Gun
Capable of destroying any type of vehicle or even kill ground units. Shoot ahead of the target if it's a fast mover (aka jet) and shoot in bursts unless you're right behind him.

Setups for different occasions.

Aircrafts-heavy maps (Kharg Island, Op Firestorm, Caspian Border) use:
Air Radar
IR Flares
Heat Seekers (or Rocket Pods if you want to engage all those tanks in the ground)

Ground-Heavy maps (Nashahr Canals) use:
Air Radar
IR Flares
Rocket Pods or Guided Missile

  • Yay, finally got service star for Jets. Btw, ECM jammer is nice, but not always helpful. It DOES NOT STOP ACTIVE MISSILES. So I use Beam Scanner, ECM Jammer, and Heat Seekers, anything else is Gatling Gun Food.

  • @IeatYOUsee Yeah but when it starts locking on after flares it starts and stops a lot.

  • @FreddyOO11 The jet locks on the flares then restarts to lock on the enemy jet. Hope this helps :D

  • I dunno if im just lagging real bad or not but for example, ill look onto somebody with heatseekers and after they deploy flares attempt to look on again, it begins to do so but randomly cuts out and restarts the lock on even though i remain same distance or closer from the enemy and keep them inside the lock on circle. is there a reason for this or do i just have a bad connection?

  • so how do you lock on with heat seekers.
