@letitsmoke : The same reasons everybody does. Curiosity. Trying to fit in. Peer pressure. Trying to look like a boss. Because people in movies do it. People make a conscous choice to start smoking the first few, but NOBODY chooses to become addicted. You are a non smoker I take it.

@rmed30 Yes, guy with the red shirt. Put Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Introduction into the search box and that should lead you to him...if not his channel is called magnustapping and his website is tapping.com and he has some free videos there also. His tapping scripts are very thorough but quite long. If I fancy a shorter tap I go to Brad Yates...he is the master!! His style is very warm and conversational, he has a huge amount of topics and his videos are much shorter. Best wishes!

@spacecatmoonbeam : I used some EFT when I quit. I didn't have much use for it when it came to smoking. However, I used to get really bad anxiety and I think EFT helped me out. Where are the videos that you watched? Was it a guy with a red shirt. I watched RObert Gorich for panic attacks, he's pretty good. But I would like to know who you recommend. thanks

I'm glad this person quit. But her advice is severely misguided. It's no wonder why it took her years, and so much misery.

I quit the same way, cold turkey - twice.
I messed up once. I was quit for 1.4 years and then hooked up with a woman who was a smoker. Big mistake. I thought I could control it, but I was wrong. I left her six months later (unrelated reasons) and quit again. Lesson learned. I can't "be" with a smoker either. I'm so glad, I'm so relieved, and I am so grateful that I quit again. It wasn't as hard the second time around. What was harder was deciding to quit because I thought I "needed" it.

all those medicine that "help" you quit smoking are nonsense.. if you don't WANT to quit nothing in the world can help you quit smoking.. you have to realize how bad smoking really is and how it's not helping you achieve anything at all.. the "need" for smoking is an illusion and can be delt with very easily.. you have to just man up and stop cheating on yourself. When you say i quit you just have to fucking quit (sorry for my french) i've smoked for 5 years.. 5 retarded years i may add.
