Does no one think that ceremonies and traditions of worship go aginst buddism?? It defeats the perpose of reaching you own enlightenment. This seems like people are just worshipping him like any other religion would do. I BET its just human nature to take something great, twist the message completely, and begin controlling people.

besides the ceremonial honour,BUddhists worldwide must also honour the Buddha by living his teaching.Between ceremony & practising his teaching, the Buddha would prefer Buddhists to live his teaching to really honour him
