I've been listening to Kiss since 1975 ... This record is totally carved from the Unmasked/Casablanca era.. some of it reminds me of the 4th side of Alive 2 as well.. but if you're a Kiss fan you know those were not their best years by any stretch. I love these guys, it is the soundtrack of my youth... I miss Ace and Peter both but Aces influence is missing. Gene and Paul when Ace flaked in the late 70's they took over completely.. and that's when it tanked.. get it? Ace is Key to the real Kiss

my opinion on this album is that its a 3 1/2 but the criticism i see the most is that ace and peter aren't on the album but i think every song is good except for hot and cold and stand

Sorry to say but Ace and Peter couldn't have even saved this album. The songs are just not there.....sorry. Modern Day Delilah is the only listenable song on the album and thats not really saying much. Gene and Paul need to stop trying to recreate the past, they are not in thier 20's anymore. It seems like they are trying to recapture this one moment in time when they actually ruled the world. I am not saying they should stop making music, they should stop forcing something that isn't there

Oh and people who think this album is the best you all know it ain't that great you just say it is because you want to be a true kiss fan well a true fan wouldn't kiss ass to every album the band does a true fan has their opinion on every album good or bad and a true kiss fan would want new music but with the classic sound this album i don't even know what to call it

@Mrsabbathtruth1 no this album is not the best and what are you talking about drugs and alcohol made the music better straight edge bands are just pussies that's why music sucks now a days and no one is dissing this album because peter and ace aren't in this album people are dissing this album because most of these songs suck and thank god peter and ace arnt responsible for making these songs, this album didn't turn out so well but Paul and Simmons could have done a better job at it
