Id consider that more of a hot rod than a rat rod. its too nice, rat rods are supposed to be rusty if you dont like the rusty ones then you dont like real rat rods
-
are those the origional doors for that body?...nice car..hope mine turns out that nice..

what year is it

i think if i was ever gonna build a rat id run on of my pontiac 400s

Nice rat rod/hot rod. To each his own definition of the two words.

Run whatever motor you want I do. I love old oddball motors too but the sbc found their way into countless rods as soon as they started leaving the factory and that's a FACT. Dosent this car live in england now?

@knucklebuster1964 Yes, this car is now in England. I sold it 3 weeks after I finished building it. I believe it has changed hands from the original owner in England. It was recently featured in Deluxe magazine.

Congrats for NOT making this rod look like a shitball. This thing is badass and classy at the same time.Where did the dash come from, a Mustang II?Again, nice ride. Glad you didn't chop it all to hell...

I built the dash out of sheet metal. It is just two rolled plates welded on an angle.

I love old school hot rods and I am a true believer that the motor makes the car. A small block Chev just leaves me wanting more...it's like the builder just gave up and put in the cheapest and easiest motor he could find....there is nothing worse than seeing something like a '48 Merc at a car show and under the hood sits a 350 crate motor...yuk!! This car with a Flathead or a Red Ram...sweet!!! All that being said it's still way nicer than anything I've ever owned.

Well, it's not quite a crate motor. Its actually a 71 lt1, high nickle block, with balanced and blueprinted rotating assembly. stainless exhaust valves .100 pop up pistons, bronze guides, 280H comp cam. If you want to see more it is in the new april deluxe magazine. a couple things changed from this video.
