I still think the movies ending was better though, due to the fact that i beleive the movies message is that it is immoral to transform a human being into somthing their not, and Alex choosing to be good even after being brainwashed would kind of smash the stories symbolizm.

The ending of the book actually has him CHOOSE to be good after he gets a new gang of droogs and he witnesses them murder an old man.

I'd agree it was good for Alex but it was bad for society. Although i guess its better to be what you want to be as an individual instead of being what society wants to mold you into.
