The Great River Race is a 22 mile rowing race through the centre of London every September. While the primary focus is on the rowers it could not happen without the safety boats to support them. Here is a very short vid of some of those boats. Music is by the immortal Clash go buy it!

@skiffhead There wouldn't be a GRR if it weren't for the volunteer drivers who provide their own safety boats. Yes, I'm sure some people are annoying but its a long day and can be hard to control the wash. I hope you continue to enjoy the race for another 15 years and give the safety drivers a break! :)

I have been racing in the GRR for 15 years and the only problem we get is safety boats speeding up and down for no reason creating wash and swirl for everyone to row in.
