James O'Callaghan tells the story of a fair trade coffee house in Langley, B.C. Filmed during the last four days it was open, this documentary explores the history, community, and mysterious demise of a beloved second home to many. Featuring the last concert with Franklyn Currie, and in-depth interviews with Jill and John Enns (the owners), the Mayor of Langley, other downtown merchants, and legions of loyal customers, The Last Days of Ethical Addictions captures everything that EA was and provides an inquiry into where downtown Langley is headed. Does Langley support or suppress small businesses? Is the downtown dying? In what way has the addition of a Casino affected the community? These significant questions are explored in an investigation of a community in transition.
