Yes, but fortunately its not anything our society would tolerate. For now, each citizen will have to make the most responsible choice they can, others will have to continue to pick up the slack for those who don't or won't act responsibly. Eventually the problem will right itself. Either society will change legally, morally, and spirtually or society will grow top heavy with irresponsible people and simply colapse.

You are absolutely correct, but the problem lies in trying to modify the biologically driven behavior that compels all life forms to reproduce. In the old days there were strict religious laws and social penalties to keep promiscuous behavior in check. In a modern secular society there is no such control. There isn't even any shame, just a government subsidy. I now what it would take, but civilized people would never consider such a thing.

Until we rid the behavior that causes unwanted pregnancies, there is a need for legal abortion. Our country has always spent more time, energy and effort on putting the ambulance at the bottom of the cliff, instead of putting a fence around the top of it. We have grossly underestimated the need for prevention. That applies to many of our current problems.

It is basically a bad thing. The scenario you have described is also very bad. If faced with such a dilemma a woman would have to choose between the lesser of two evils. A sexual predator's reproductive strategy of forcebly speading his genetic material into the gene pool should be considered a form of pollution. So, I would not begrudge any woman forced to make such a decision under those circumstances. But don't forget the predator, who should also be deleted from the gene pool
