During the late 70s, 80s early 90s during mass exodus from New York a lot of landlords simply just abandoned buildings. They would of sat empty for years abandoned. Squatters moved in. Took care of them while living there. City renovated buildings to bring them up to code. Gave buildings to them. Possession is 9 tenths of the law. They wher there for 30 days or more. Big victory for the average man aganst greedy New York landlords. These people are heroes. Rent controll laws, rent stabilization laws need to be stronger. Guy standing all the way in the back throwing spitballs at me. After I"m finished here I"m calling the police on them. Internet cafe refuses to throw them out.
I agree "victory for the average men ... finally victory against greedy landlords in new york ..."

a bunch of crackheads and drug dealers got into those buildings first, died or got arrested, then their offspring took care of the buildings, took care of things as best as semi-homeless people can.
