For anyone who grew up in the 1960's (and a good many more), there will always be only one Cinderella, and that's Lesley Ann Warren. Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella" first aired on the night of Feb. 22, 1965 and was rebroadcast annually until 1974.

I wish it was still being aired. Better yet, I wish someone would upload the entire movie!

To nicktesla45...I've read your other comments on a myriad of topics. Why so sad and bitter? I wish you peace and contentment and the grace to let others voice an opinion without your giving such acidic responses. And I did marry a prince & we have a lovely kingdom where we live with our beautiful citizens...my prince is the richest poor man on earth.

So you bought the whole Cinderella Philosophy ? Yep, this movie is a mother's way of teaching her little girl that it's OK to be a Gold-digger and a Social Climber like Cinderella . Well. Marcie now that you're an old bag can you look back and say you married a Rich Prince or maybe a Bill Gates ?! Just curious Marcie , Not that I really give a rats ass But it is clear to see why American Women are considered the Biggest Gold-diggers on earth .

My mother and I would watch this on the Disney channel when it'd come on annually. It was a tradition every year. Now she has passed away, but this will always be something very special that we shared.

I saw this when I was 15 when it was first aired in Feb. 1965 & every year till it stopped in '74.. I'm 63 & It's my favorite. It's a lovely interpretation of an important life lesson for girls.. a lesson of women joining forces (C & the fairy godmother) to create an opportunity (get to the ball) to make or break, & to stand up for yourself to get what's due you (a chance to try on the slipper). Even as a child I thought this about the Cinderella story & this one says it beautifully.

This will always be my Cinderella.

I know the 50's and the 90's version are more tounge-in-cheek and P.C. about everything, but that does not make it better. In fact, I think this version is more subtle and emotional because it is the straightforward fairy tale.

Perhpas young people looking at this are not very impressed. Technically we've come so far. The beauty of this movie really was the ingenue of Lesley Ann Warren. It's more difficult to appreciate that watching it in separate clips, but she really did have that sweet princess quality that seemed so authentic and drew us in. Perhaps there have been CInderellas that sang better, but IMHO she was the quintessential Cinderella.

This only has 135,000 views but Justin Bieber has 250+million video views... Unreal... But, i'm incredibly happy to have grown up on this and other Roger and Hammerstiens movies! I am 25 and watching this brought me back to my childhood in the best way!
