Additonal to my reply to cessnalegend: I can't help but feel that your argument is seriously flawed as the speed and convenience of air travel do not balance the catastrophic level of emissions that it produces, even if the new planes are producing less than once they were.

Yes you must be so so so so stupid. Why the heck would you protest here and get a life why dont you protest about something that needs protesters like to stop the amount of illegal imigrants entering UK that is what we should be rersuing not little airports like bloody newquay

I resent the implication that we are in some way below par in the mental aptitude stakes, that our concerns regarding the destruction of the planet somehow render us, in your eyes, mentally impotent. The protest took place at NQY because it is a local issue which concerns those who took part in the action. Specifically, as it is made apparent in the video, NQY was targeted as it is currently planning to expand, an action that we, like many, condemn.

Regarding illegal immigrants: Although, of course, I would not deem myself qualified to speak on the behalf of the autonomous individuals who took part in the protest, I personally do not believe that this is a matter requiring activism. I feel it would be better to combat ignorance and prejudice. Further to this point however, if you feel that this is an issue that needs to be acted upon then please feel free to exercise your legal right to peaceful demonstration before it is taken away.

WHAT THE HELL. DO YOU THINK NQY AIRPORTC IS GOING TO GROW INTO A LONDON HEATRHOW ... HMM SOMEHOW I DONT THINK SO. aND aIR TRAVEL IS NOW BY FAR THE QUICKEST, AND SAFEST WAY TO TRAVEL IT MAY NOT BE THE MOST EFFICENT BUT THE NEW PLANES BEING BIULT HAVE A BIG PERCENT DECREASE IN THEIR CARBON EMMISSIONS. I personally do not think that NQY airport is going to grow into London Heathrow, as much as those involved may like the increased influx of money were this to happen. Regardless, this is rather a moot point; the level of NQY's expansion is immaterial, be it the evolution into a Heathrowesque colossus of aviation or not, as any expansion is unnecessary and carries serious ramifications to the planet whilst offering little, if anything, in terms of returns to the local community.

Cornwall is such a beautiful place surrounded by natural beauty that could be used as 'eco-tourism' rather than be taken away for us to breathe more 'free' CO2 emissions. Who you think is gonna come on those airplanes?? A green Santa Claus to give you job and money?? or businessmen kicking you out to build their new enterprises in your backyard??...

Fact is, Cornwall is one of the poorest areas not only in the UK but Western Europe. It needs tourism now its mining industry has gone, and Newquay airport promotes that and is good for it's economy. Even if locals don't benefit directly from it, they will benefit from living in a more well off Cornwall as a whole.

And that guy in the video looks like a massive twat. I wouldn't take anyone who looked that pompous seriously. Trying to be smart and funny, but total fail. I lold hard
