Looks like they have a nice car, why can't they find some wood, paint, clean the yard up?

First, I'm a single black woman with two babies...12 and 7. What exactly do you want the government to do? As far as I'm concerned myself and everyone that has a job is the government. Call me selfish...but after 20% of my income is stolen out of my hands every two weeks before I feed my own children...I personally do not care how able body men like him live. I am extremely disturbed that he was coddled and pacified in the fact that somewhere along the way he made some piss poor decisions. Thos

I do not judge people! That could be ANY of us!! You get hurt and lose your job... sick... not blessed with an average IQ.. If you lived here would you be diligent about cutting weeds? Why cut them? makes your house look better? There's not much improving on this place!! They have junk around the house. If you lived here, with no money, would you pay the dump $20. to take it? When you need the 20 for an overdue electric bill? probably not!! Do not judge people!!!!!

how is being poor preventing them from removing the vines that are growing on their house?

Thanks Ms. Harrell.. Most older people are set in their ways and refuse the help of the government and from their children. I think we need to stop settling for less. As people we need to reach back and help our family but some times they refuse the help. Trust Me... This guy is a young man that was afforded he opportunities to do better for his family. Some times you need to move out of the small town and stretch and allow God to lead you.

No one chooses to live in poverty...... but there is no excuse for those weeds groing up on the back of that door, those can be cut down....

well those roots didnt grow overnight so that just being bone idle..no need for the over growth of the trees and weeds..most of that could have been avoided by maintaining the property...not difficult is it?obviously to much for him to get on with...
As Only God can do it!

I disagree with you here. It would be foolish to look down on anyone who lives in cities or in rural areas. I lived in the city and now I am living in a rural area. Most importantly, loving it. We have public libraries, stores, a community center and park for the children. If you do not have a car, the doctors or within walking distance. Everyone is not caught up in the material world. I for one!

Land of OPPORTUNITY for who. Maybe for some, you have totally been miseducated. If you truly believe that these people do not want better then this. Go and visit the Mississippi Delta and then come back and tell me where is the land of opportunity. Most importantly for who? Thank you for encouraging me to stay on this journey. It is people like you that give me the much need energy to help people like these families.
