Garrys Mod - Warhammer 40K Tanks

Yeah these are some "noobishly" equipped models I got from the W40K model pack and some NPC pack from www.garrysmod.org . And I'm using thrusters and stuff... So it's nothing you couldn't make on your own :P even though I do see a lot of requests on drivable stuff... Lazyness, I suppose. And I guess most people only want wiremod stuff.

So there's 3 tanks I'll show in this vid :D

1st: Baneblade

It's heavy and rather sluggish, but hard to bulge :D and it's got massive firepower, however it's hard to control all these turrets, so it's something you'll have to learn by hueg amounts of practice, and there's supposed to be a dual machinegun... guess one of the turrets got stuck XD anyway, it can be a very deadly weapon in skilled hands.

2nd: Landraider

It's pretty fast and shoots accurately, however it's stuck to killing unarmored NPC's, since it got only attached SMG turrets. Gotta make a camera view to it, too. However, it stops enemy fire from hitting you, so it's a good travelling vehicle! :D

3rd: Predator

It's kinda in between the Baneblade and the Landraider in this case. Rather good firepower, (Yes, rapidly firing cannon, but weakened damage) and the dual machinegun can mow down groups of NPC's pretty fast :D a good choice for the average tankdriver!

Anyway, I'm going to continue working on the W40K stuff I got, and as soon as I learn how the wiremod works, I'm sure it's gonna be a lot better. :D

I have some other work in progress to but that's not really anything I'd like to show yet, for example... an artillery tank, a heavy bolter turret, and some sort of tall turret from the space marine faction ._. there are dreadnoughts too but I gotta figure out how to make models legs move before I try making them drivable. D:

Anyway... I know I'm kinda out of my league when I say this, but... XD I gladly take requests for making driveable vehicles. So if there's something you wanna snatch with an adv.dup later, either comment here, or add me on Steam so we can talk more... in private ;D

@jugedbubble Well I attached a fixed twin machinegun on the main hull, cannon on the turret main gun, two lesser cannons on the right/left turrets, that. But yes, I did attach some more guns later on that I didn't record. A plasma gun and 2 lasguns.

Too lazy to rebuild this tank though so this will have to do! : D

land raider...stuck at killing npcs? are you nuts? what are these side lascannons for then? and baneblade? it has an arty cannon on the front, and the lil turrets mostly shoot lasers! just as the primary weapon of the predator. cant say this is a bad video though. good work.

@Rototornik Yeah I made this video when there weren't many good addons available. If I remade these tanks today, they'd be more or less identical to what they're like in the actual games : D

2B honest,Im fascinated w/ th minis,I luv paintin em.The storyline is also fascinatn,drawing fr StarWars, which in turn draws fr Napoleonic history (probably my fave part of all history).

The Romanic iconism(eagles,latin,leigion mil org,etc) which was part of Napoleon's ord of his armies defo come thru in the game.

I am just turned off these genitcally modded superhuman space marines,tchno savvy Eldar&Tau (who never went thru cataclysms!)cant aim worth a shit

Also wh40k has to define itself so why not mix fantasy and sci-fi together?It turned out to be freaking awesome.

@SavageJim01 As I know the warhammer 40k history, there WAS a technically advanced period between today and 40k, only a decline has started, emperor saved the day, but mankind slipped into a neo (neo) gothic state, frontiers of humanity is being attacked by new kinds of threats, and no one knows whether we survive. Correct me if I am wrong

I remember Horus, I actually painted the mini of him when GW still had "pewter" minis.

I just think GW is damn stupid in their logic. Lascannons, plasma cannons, yet they can hit the broadside of a barn unless you are @point blank range, and then you still can miss if when you roll to hit! Too bad that targeting tech, even optical scopes are lost to genmodded marines firing from the hips instead of aiming.

@SavageJim01 I'm assuming you don't know much about the background do you?. Anybody who knows just the tiniest bit of the fluff knows that Mankind wen't through a dark age, as in they lost all technology and wen't back to year 0; and so they spend a long time regaining that knowledge. Then Horus Heresy happens, shit gets real, and they lose all that knowledge again, but this time they still have the tech, so now they now think machines work like magic; and thus chainswords are now the new black.

I felt a stirring in my loins when it started driving around. Why won't Games Workshop let us have nice things? It'd be like, Battlefield 3, 40K style.
