@xxcdemon08 the calves are a large area. u should land with your foot in line with your shoulders so you are not slowing yourself down and putting stress on your joints by striking too far forward. and just run up hill and TRAIN THE TIBIALIS ANTERIOR to avoid shin splints. the muscle runs up your leg and is responsible for bring your foot closer to the rest of your leg. if you run up hill a lot im sure you have felt some soreness there
