A small carnival space on Playstation Home has opened its doors.
Offering a free personal space on entry and a small selection of games with a range of stuff to win. The sounds are spot on with carnival music, lighting from rides in the background and the odd voice of real people saying they are going over there. The space has a circular walk around section, with games dotted round at most points and ticket booths. Now a word of warning, you have to pay to play the games in this space, 75p for 50 tickets (in the UK, might be different in other areas) and some of the games just are unplayable. The games start on a simple level of challenge and then drive up to insane levels as you start getting good and win goodies.
Here are the games I found on offer, if I missed any. Please tell me, I can always go back another day! Darla's Darts is a pop the balloon with darts, that works well and when two other people are also competing to hit balloons. High Roller in the center is a simple roll the ball over an angled surface into the coloured slot. Difficult game as the balls tend to go everywhere they desire. Frog Flinger is a simple land the frogs on spinning tables, done well and easy to play.
Trigger Happy, the shooting games that gives you lots of targets and infinite bullets. Just a targeting circle that is drunk and goes off in any direction it want and is a major tug of war. Bell Ringer is the smack hammer and send a chunk of metal up to ring the bell game. Not brilliant, but I've seen this done worse. Ball Squeezer is annoying as you attempt to get a ball down two metal rods to score points. I couldn't manage to get any points in this game even after a few attempts!
Rebound is the basket ball game that gives you a target of so many balls in a small time limit. A button bash game with the aim device going up and down all the time. Quick and simple to watch the other players racking balls in as well. Miz Fortune is a colour matching game that I found odd and boring. Now if she told your fortune instead! Spilt Milk is the throw a ball at milk bottles carnival game. Simple and did lag the second time round. But playable and fun. The Fickle Flapper of Fate is a wheel of fate game where you aim for your colour. Played with up to three other players you do get to increase the speed of the spin, but I have no idea if this helps you or hinders your chances!
Now every so often you do get offered the chance to play a certain game for free for one or two minutes. My verdict is a good attempt at doing something different, the games range from good to terrible and the personal space contains stuff to unlock (including that clown cannon game). But as winning prizes earns you points in this personal space, you got to buy tickets! In the ticket booth is a bar key, didn't buy this and it does unlock a area in the personal space.
