The earliest blues recordings in history of blues by a black guitarist were recorded by Sylvester Weaver of Louisville Kentucky and he even used bottleneck slide

  • Goodness, is it really that loud? Very nice playing!

  • @DuskY1991 Thanks, yes it is pretty loud. Really cuts through.

  • What website can you order that from?

  • @TheAntiCommie I've seen them on Ebay along with a couple brands that are very similar but I believe I followed a link and bought mine at the specific manufacturer/distributor site. I dont have that link but I swear it might have been Rondo. You might google search on this brand which I thought was SX made by Rondo... Hope that helps

  • If you don't mind, could you tell me how sturdy the neck is on the SX 6 string? I've had experience with a couple of really cheap banjo guitars that have extremely floppy necks. They're almost unplayable because the slightest pressure of gripping the neck and even just gravity makes the neck bow and throw out the tuning. I've been thinking about trying out the SX but I don't want to have to deal with a super floppy neck. Thanks!

  • @evankinney I would say it was pretty decent and pretty solid. No wobbling or bending of the neck when you play. Stayed in tune good and seemed to be really good for a banjo in this price range.

  • @evankinney Yes a very good question that, because I bought a banjo and on the headstock the name was eastcoast and on the skin was REMO weatherking banjo head, I set it up with the intonation everything by the book, but there is no way you can keep it in tune, like you said breath and it's out of tune, so anyone out there steer clear of banjos with movement in the headstock, there are cheap ones out there, but anything under £350 I should steer well clear.

  • the reason why i want one of these is beacause of neil young, i saw him play his old one and fell in love with that instrument, tell me how much was it?

  • I bought one of these.....and in a matter of weeks I wanted a 'real' banjo. Eventually I got one and I have never looked back since. I was given a very good tip for the guitar banjo though its best strung with fine/light guage strins or you dont get the proper 'banjo' sound. This guy is really clever and makes it sound great anyway. I have to confess that I do prefer the banjo though, it was a challenge to learn a totally new instrument but its been worth the effort. Thank you for sharing!!

  • cool

  • @LittleBrotherBlues ,great, I have just bought my guitarbanjo, what a fantastic instrument ! It just smiles at you. Mine is a cheap Ozark, but I am impressed at the overall quality for that money.

I am a guitarist , can I use electric guitar strings on the guitarbanjo ? The strings that came with are too thick for my needs

  • Hey i was wondering, do you have that tuned in standard tuning? Because i heard deep river blues through it and i thought that was normally an open tuning
