Paul Hanson, virtuoso guitarist and the author of SHRED GUITAR, presents this system for improvising both rhythm and lead parts in metal and rock. Hanson carefully demonstrates the various techniques for mastering the art of soloing such as hammer-ons, pull-offs, sweep licks, and vibrato. He also lays the foundation for rock improvisation by teaching blues scales with the aid of graphics that allow musicians who cannot read music to follow along. An excellent primer on improvisation, Mr. Hanson program deserves to be in the library of any aspiring rock or metal guitarists.

  • I play guitar for a long time, I love all kind of music and I'm studing some shred guitar now. Paul sounds great in this video with full drive the guitar sings. It sounds great! I notice he set his guitar with a very very low action! All high strings are buzzing with a clean sound when he shows the examples. Is it a good way to set the guitar for this kind of music?
