People started living on floating islands hundreds of years ago in order to escape paying taxes. Their descendants have continued the tradition.

  • Many places I've visited around the world, traditions are so strong they take precidence over such things as money and material conforts: things as westerners we hold onto dearly at almost any cost.

  • Call me crazy yet I would like to create and live on my own island.

  • Wow, very interesting! To this day, it still amazes me (in a good way) that millenarian traditions still hold ground. In th so-called 1st world, we get too caught up in a fast-moving swirl of things. We loose the connection these people have with their ancestors. Thanks for sharing

  • Wow! Thanks for this short video on the floating islands. I had never heard of it until today. I will look into it a little more.
