No, no upright here, way too hard. They usually have a standard EADG tuning. It sounds lower then it actually is. And this exactly made the ampeg babybass a success in latin music, and a failure in western music. It was not acoustic sounding at all, it was a whole new thing.
Some of those old albums are going to be hard to pick up on those low bass lines. i mean, those really low notes lol... But I always wonder, how the uprights and baby basses are tuned to play those notes given they only have 4 strings. You got an Upright Bass?
Hey Great effort with this song!! The way play this is with a 5-string bass as well but I detune the lowest to a B flat. If you listen carefully to the studio song you will find the baseline rolling lower not higher.. Hard to pickup unless you got real good headphones though :-) great playin!
