An F-22 Raptor Music Video.

Compilation of clips and pics to make a video of the greatest fighter ever built, the Lockheed F-22A Raptor

(From Wiki)

The Lockheed Martin/Boeing F-22 Raptor is a fifth-generation fighter aircraft that uses stealth technology. It was designed primarily as an air superiority fighter, but has additional capabilities that include ground attack, electronic warfare, and signals intelligence roles. Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is the prime contractor and is responsible for the majority of the airframe, weapon systems and final assembly of the F-22. Program partner Boeing Integrated Defense Systems provides the wings, aft fuselage, avionics integration, and all of the pilot and maintenance training systems.

The aircraft was variously designated F-22 and F/A-22 during the years prior to formally entering USAF service in December 2005 as the F-22A. Despite a protracted and costly development period, the United States Air Force considers the F-22 a critical component for the future of US tactical airpower, and claims that the aircraft is unmatched by any known or projected fighter, while Lockheed Martin claims that the Raptor's combination of stealth, speed, agility, precision and situational awareness, combined with air-to-air and air-to-ground combat capabilities, makes it the best overall fighter in the world today. Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston, Chief of the Australian Defence Force, said in 2004 that the "F-22 will be the most outstanding fighter plane ever built."

The high cost of the aircraft, a lack of a clear air to air combat mission because of the lengthy delays in the Russian and Chinese fifth generation fighter programs, a US ban on export of the Raptor to other countries, and the development of the cheaper and more versatile F-35 resulted in calls to end F-22 production. In April 2009 the US Department of Defense proposed to cease placing new orders, subject to Congressional approval, for a final procurement tally of 187 Raptors. The US Senate and House each passed 2010 budget bill versions without F-22 production funding in July 2009. Congress worked to combine these versions into one bill, and President Obama signed the national defense authorization act for fiscal 2010 in October 2009, without funding for F-22 production.

  • I find it ridiculous that they are stopping production of this aircraft. They should have at least kept the 381 F-22's that they were going to do until Gates came into play. One thing about our military, is its all politics. If they don't like it they won't fund it even if its for the good for our country. They like things cheap and not something that could dominate the battlefield.

  • F22RaptorFF,

I totally agree. I couldn't have said that better myself.

  • On Dec. of 2007 the economy tanked. And when the economy goes bad there just isn't enough money to go around so the military becomes an easy target for cuts. Also the military is far from efficient as seen with the F-35 program among others. Then there's the problem with parts being manufactured across nearly every state in the union in an attempt to keep politicians from killing fighter programs. This only serves to further increase costs! To many hands in the pot.

  • @F22RaptorFF I hope top some day fly the raptor, as a a cadet in rotc, civil air patrol, it killed me to see that raptor was to not be produced anymore, im glad someone stands up for the plane, god bless you are a true american

  • Специалисты доказали , что это самый дорогой , самый разрекламированный и самый гавенный самолет на планете. Его компьютерная техника даже в дождь не работает. Армия США даж отказалась от его использования в Ираке ибо там много песка в воздухе летает.

  • @DamonHiII when did they decide to scrap them?

  • @ChessMasterHarvey

dude more like 10x the cost of an f-14 for the raptor

  • @Xukinugo Have you heard of Red Flag? Its the largest joint aerial training operation that takes place every year at Nellis AFB. Back in 08 India brought a flight of brand new SU-30MIKIs, which is pretty much an export version of the SU-35 Russia's gen 4.5. F-22s walked away with an unblemished kill record. Even the Russians are admitting that they're new PAKFA T-50s are in many areas not as stealthy or advances as the F-22.

  • I might be a ground pounder at heart but I know a good thing when I see it. Its sad that they discontinued such a wonderful flawless work of art and engineering. The F-22 proves that old saying, "If it looks right it probably is". I hate the fact that politcians put their noses into it. Billions dollars and almost two decades of design and testing wasn't just to make an aircraft that looks beautiful, but a fully combat capable and relevant aircraft.

  • STAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRR SCREEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMM

  • @F22RaptorFF It's nearly triple the cost of the tomcat dude.

  • sweet aircraft, i saw one back in....i think 98 or 99 at Edwards AirForce base.
