This is Doom level 1 done with Squirrel by Arkhan.
Squirrel is a PC Engine MML compiler. MML is Music Macro Language, a simple and effective way to create chiptunes.
The compiler aims to comply fully with the information given in the official and develo PC Engine documents, and with standards set in place by other MML systems.

Actually it sounds like the chorus section of No Remorse.

Yes, all of Doom's music was inspired by the popular metal music of the time. You can hear slayer/metallica vibes in all of the songs Bobby Prince did for the game.

the music is a straight up copycat version of master of puppets

I'm not familiar with Doom's music but, this version of it has a definite TG16 sound quality too it. I heard sounds in it that reminded me of Legendary Axe II and Alien Crush.
Nice work!

@kibjohn You'd be surprised how much easier Squirrel is than the currently recognized method (HuSIC)!
Getting the compiler installed to build the file is harder than the composing :)
and you can use MIDI to MML converters to help you out a great deal!
Though it doesn't always help if the song has weird tempos. so you have to do it from scratch....
kind of like this Doom demo!

This is awesome! Though, composing TG-16/PCE music using MML is pretty complicated.
