What? No. That's actually a reference to the Pottawatomie Massacre of 1856, when John Brown (who would later gain notoriety by raiding the federal arsenal at Harper's Ferry) and a group of militant abolitionists hacked a group of Kansas slaveowners to pieces with broadswords in retaliation to the destruction of the free-soil town of Lawrence, Kansas.
