Do you even know what the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is? For fuck's sake, you Ron Paul supporters need to stop worshiping this guy and think for yourselves... it's as if criticizing this guy is taboo or something on Youtube.
The Civil Rights Act didn't put a band-aid over the issue; it fixed it instantaneously. All segregation laws were instantly NULLIFIED after its passage.

if he's saying he wouldn't have voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1964 that does make him sound like a racist because during that time people were racist. These days it would seem wrong not to hire someone based on race but there are still plenty of people who would, and that's not fair to judge someone on skin color. People would probably riot if their rights were stripped and that's what he wants to do and it scares me.

If we assume that your assertion is correct (that the sign was actually meant for fabrics) should we then believe that segregation did not exist? There is plenty of photographic evidence and "living evidence" of the existence of "Whites Only" signs all over the south in the 60s.

I could be a little off base here, but I'm pretty sure that "WHITES ONLY" on a Laundromat machine refers to the color of the clothing, not the individual using the machine. chris matthews is just looking for racism to use in a point of his. RON PAUL would have voted agasint the 1964 CRA because he didnt want federal employees to get another holiday at the taxpayers expense

Ron Paul would not have voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1964 because he wanted to get rid of the laws that were targeted at racism, not just put a band aide over it with an ACT. CNN has also made attempts at splicing and cutting film to make it look like he stormed out, when in fact after reviewing the actual footage he just walked away because it was over.
