Me messing around again, this one was a sound test for my newer Shure SM-57 microphone/mixing board setup. Still sounds too tinny to me. Might have to try and adjust the sound again. I honestly hate micing an amp, because I use a very vintage Marshall 4X12 cab. Don't believe the hype. They have way too much high-end and not enough mid. Normally I use a cabinet emulator device. May try that instead on the next round.

Subsequently, this is the Let It Be "Naked" version I'm playing along with, in which the original solo was removed. I don't know why they took this great solo out of the album. Little known fact about the Spector mixed version of Let It Be is that two solos are going at the same time, the one in the background is played by Harrison on his rosewood Telecaster through a Leslie speaker. The one in the foreground is the one I'm playing. Debate has gone on for years that McCartney did the original 'foreground' solo due to the sharper, stinging tone used. I still think it was Harrison.

  • What are your amp settings? Using any effects?

  • Marshall JMP-1 Preamp

    Marshall Valvestate 80W Power Amp

    Hendrix-era 70s Marshall 4X12 Cabinet

  • is that guitar like an ernie ball musicman replica?

  • No. It's kind of confusing. It's a Peavey Wolfgang model. Ernie Ball had the contract with Eddie Van Halen to produce the Wolfgang for a few years, then for some reason, Eddie switched to Peavey to make the Wolfgang. The guitars look and play very similarly to the Ernie Ball musicman, which the original Wolfgang was modeled after.

  • OMG.. you are fantastic!!!

  • George Harrison rules. There's a bunch of other guitarists (famous and unknown) doing this solo on youtube but versions like this-basically playing what george played-are the best. He nailed that solo and nobody can improve on it
