1984 Lyudmila Pakhomova Speaks..........on Ice Dancing!!!!

We bring back the "Queen" of Ice Dancing, Russia's immortal Lyudmila Pakhomova, who speaks to us from 'beyond the grave' in a desperate appeal to save her beloved sport of ice dancing!!

While she was being interviewed here about the changes to ice dancing generated by the ascent of Great Britain's dynamic team of Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean, her words seemed highly appropriate in this age of sport technocrats and greedy promoters who seemed determined to "DESTROY" 'our' sport. The words stand on their own........but I wholeheartedly believe that Lyudmila would NOT be pleased with the current state of competitive skating and its ridiculous emphasis on non-sensical, repetitive, gymnastical, 'balance beam routine' choreography.....The COP structure chokes and stifles even the tiniest glimmer of hope expressed by the last beacons of artistic skating we may ever see!!!!

And you thought I would keep my promise NOT to get on my Soapbox again!!!! lol

I refuse to "die" (literally AND figuratively until my 6.0 scoring system is returned to its rightful owners.......our young competitive skaters!!!! Mark this date COP scoring system!!! March 14th, 2009......THAT is the day YOU died!!!!!! best wishes k9henrydog
