Jaws was one of my top favorites, too... Even though Jaws is what made me deathly afraid of sharks and water (when combined so the shark can swim), I liked it a lot. And I don't know where to stand on this issue because I love Harry Potter too and thats whats replacing Jaws. More Harry Potter.

Wow... If you wouldn't have been younger than 13 or 14, I'd have thought that was funny. My family brought me up telling me that people shouldn't curse around kids 'cuz its a bad habit. I've got a friend and a boyfriend who grew up in similar verbal conditions and though my boyfriend has improved from what he was when we first met, my friend, on the other hand, isn't even allowed into our house by my mother.

It stems from childhood. Its this unknown creature with powerful abilities. Thats why you're afraid. I was once afraid of him too, I admit, but it only lasted for maybe an hour. I'm not kidding. I was ONLY afraid of him the first time I saw the movie. But after it ended, I realized what a nice, sweet, caring alien he really was and fell in love with him. :)

By the way, Botanicus is that gigantic alien that looks like E.T but older and wiser, who holds a magical looking staff who appears to talk to people who are in line waiting to get on the ride. When I first went, I had no idea who Botanicus was and was ACTUALLY afraid of him. :/ But I quite like him now and wish that there was an E.T novel about Botanicus' adventure on Earth as well.

Yes, there is. :) A book was written based on the ORIGINAL unedited screen-play for the film. I have a copy of that book and I LOVE reading it over and over. :) The book only mentions the Green Planet and it's inhabitants, though. But it DOES, however, teach you that Botanicus, E.T's herbology teacher, was once stuck on Earth before like E.T, that E.T is NOT a baby and that E.T falls in love with Eliot's mother but cannot tell her because hes afraid of what she'll think.

I never got terrified. <3 I loved it from the moment I saw it listed in the park's list of rides. I grew up watching E.T over and over and over again, crying for him everytime Eliot thought he was gonna die and when I saw that there was an E.T ride in the park when I was 9, I FLIPPED. :D Its my FAVORITE one now and I LOVE the giftshop it has. <3 I'm an E.T nerd and was fortunate enough to get the last remaining life-sized talking E.T plush that was ever made at that shop.
I LOVE this ride. If they EVER take it down, I REFUSE to go back to Universal. D:< I'm total nerd for this movie and it's original script and this is the most fun ride in the entire park. I WILL RAGE IF I GO BACK AND ITS GONE LIKE KING-KONG.
