Sri lanka Consul General Bandula Jayasekera debate with CTC

Posted by: United Sri Lankans of Canada -Interview on Omni news with Sri Lankan Consul General to Toronto, Bandula Jayasekera and David Poopalapillai of Canadian Tamil Congress (CTC). The interview discusses the network put in place by Liberation Tamil Tigers of Eeelam Terrorists to harass and collect money from innocent Sri Lankan Tamils living in Toronto etc. Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and other sources have alleged that Canadian Tamil Congress is the number one front line organization and the face of LTTE in Toronto as of now. This is due to the ban imposed by the government of Canada in 2006 causing pro LTTE organizations to go underground.

After the crack down on World Tamil Movement and other LTTE institutions in April of 2008 by Canadian Authorities, RCMP has clearly indicated that organizations such as Canadian Tamil Congress have a credibility issue on their hands and some serious explaining to do. Although David Poopalapillai tries to manipulate the idea of representing the Tamil Diaspora with bogus human rights allegations he is only standing up for the interests of LTTE, as it's clear that he too may be in the payroll of LTTE terrorists. On the night of the interview a ltte suicide bomb blast similar to uncountable attacks in the past ripped through the heart of Colombo killing many innocent civilians and injuring a large number of civilians but not a word of condolence from David and his congress, who claims to be the champion of human rights.

Many Sri Lankan Tamils have defied and spoke out against harassment and threats carried out by LTTE in Toronto. There are many filed cases of moderate Tamils being harassed and threatened for standing up for what they believe in. Due to such acts there is a large growing sentiment of dissent by Tamil Diaspora against LTTE agents and operations in Toronto. The main reason is also due to LTTE killings of moderate Tamils, politicians, innocent civilians, child recruitment and suicide bombings carried out in Sri Lanka and organized crime carried out against the Tamil diaspora overseas. The interview ended with Consul Jayasekera questioning the head of Canadian Tamil Congress, "David, how much money have you collected for the LTTE so far?".

As a Tamil Sri Lankan Canadian, I'm very saddened to see how poloarized these comments are. People are dying on both sides. If religion thought us anything; it's the value of human life. What saddens me most is that these comments are being typed by the hands of tomorrow's torch bearers. So to our young minds, we all must lay down our scapegoating, chump-change and swords to carefully pick up the only solution for prosperity: our education. I am a SL living in canada,Bandula your are doing a great job.I live and work among the tamil counter part where they have told me how they have been haunted by the LTTE demanding funds for the organization.many of the SL Tamil's although living in Canada have numerous issues.Many are woking in factories as their education and the knowledge of english does not allow them to enter the Canadian System easily
