Seen here is a collection of most of the cast iron cook pots I have accumulated. There are more that need restoring and I`m always on the lookout for more out there. Let me know about any cast iron cook pots you may have. It is a sort of passion with me. Thanks for watching.

  • I checked and all the skillets say WagnerWare Sidney O

on upper bottom. Sorry for going on about this. I`m picking your brains, if you don`t mind. I`m not proud of the pans I have. I use them. I`m after useable info. I thank you on the valuable info. See ya!

  • The WAGNER company folded in 1998 I believe to be accurate and are now back in a company called "American Culinary". The ribbed bottom of the griddle is going to heat up and stabilize the griddle on the burners you show just fine (on two burner) no worries. In your future travels you will find a griddle affordable without them..if it will make you happy. Keep in mind that it is short and should fit inside your oven as well. BBQ on coals and you will come to appreciate the ribbed bottom more.

  • Sounds good. I actually have some #6`s that are Wagners, I think. Have to look. The stovetop griddle is more recent than you said, I think. I actually had to sand and buff the cooking surface and had it soaking in a lemon juice bath to get rid of the rust. Could be that it was just not used ever, and was lying in a puddle or something before I bought it. I wish it didn`t have the ridges on the bottom. It would heat better without them.

  • Thanks, that sounds like it`ll be like the German Pancake recipe I have.

  • One time I tried to renovate an old family heirloom, a cast iron deep saucepan, I absent-mindedly took it out of the fire and set it down on the cool stone hearth. When I heard it crack, I almost wept. That was 20 odd years ago.

  • Finally, if it says WAGNER and SIDNEY (not Wagner Ware) not (Wagner Original1891) not (Wagner Sidney 'O') it is worth more, yes a #8 or #10 could bring $40-$65 if it is usable. Look for pitting, rust, warping, bowing, cracks, repairs, chips and the like when shopping cast iron no matter what brand or age. Enjoy your hobby and I am glad you are proud of your collection...thank you for sharing. I will send you some links when I get a chance for you to look at stuff...ok.

  • SWEDISH PANCAKES

    3 tbsp. melted butter

    3 eggs

    3 tbsp. sugar

    3/4 c. flour

    1 1/2 c. milk

Heat Swedish pancake pan until hot and oil well. Mix ingredients with wire whisk and fry on pan, turning once.

  • If your Wagners have an outer heat ring/rimmed bottom...meaning the 1/16" raised rim on the edge of the skillet bottom, then yes...it is probably 80-100 years old. There is a noticeable difference in the sharper shoulder on the cooking surface where the bottom of the surface meets the skillet wall. That is an older design as well.

  • I have a clock skillet, there are best made with unusable skillets such as with cracks. Don't waste good skillets on a novelty item, you will get a cracked or warped skillet sooner then you think if you keep buying...trust me.

  • I also have a Wagner with the heat rib on the bottom, and 1 or 2 generic ones like that too. Do you think they`re as old as the o`Brian?
