  • Probably my favorite Bartok work, it's absolutely amazing! The recording is too, performing this music in Russia 5 years before would have been pretty dangerous.

  • what i meant was that he was much more brilliant than 90%+ of composers today, and i'm not limiting my comparison to classical or impressionistic music when i say that, i mean to include all musical forms.

  • the phrase "even by today standards" is bewildering to say the least. What are these standards you are talking about?

  • Bartok was such a genius, even by today's standards he still stands out as brilliant.
